 In "How to Choose the Best Web Browser", PC Magazine named Firefox the Editors' Choice, with a score of 4.5 out of 5. The magazine noted its speed and adaptability to web standards. However, for the average computer user, the true power of the browser lies in its extensions. These free add-ons allow users to customize Firefox with task-specific programs, including everything from programming tools to social networking aids. In a 2009 Lifehacker poll asking, "Which Web Browser is Best?", Firefox was the clear winner, with 16,279 votes, 44% of the total.

 CNET reviewers give Opera a 5-star rating for its speed, size and features. However, Opera offers more than just a standard computer web browser.
