A set of 10-minute workouts for quick body sculpting for people on the go Image:Kickboxing.jpg

Why is this one of the best workout videos? Easy—it’s quick and effective. Kickboxing is a great way to burn fat and tone the entire body. As a bonus, the DVD breaks the workouts into ten-minute sections, so it’s great for people who don’t have a lot of time. Fitness Magazine named it one of its top ten picks for workout DVDs.

2.

$10-$15

A combination of cardio and weight lifting for ultimate fat burning, weight loss, and toning

Even though they’ve been making these videos since the 1980s, the outdated costumes and cheesy music can’t hide the fact that these are some of the most kick-butt workouts out there. Exercises alternate weights and cardio to keep your heart rate up, burn the fat off, and wear you out. The only down side is they tend to be long, averaging about an hour. Choose from full body workouts, upper body, lower body, abs, or focus on cardio.

3.

$10-$15

A fast-paced workout for intermediate and advanced exercisers

Consumer Search lists Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo as number one in the best workout videos category. Best for intermediate and advanced exercisers, this gives you variety in your routine along with a sweaty, fast-paced workout.

4.

$10-$15

Low-impact for beginners, this video incorporates knee lifts and other moves for more than just walking.

If you’re a beginner, but you still want to rev up your cardio schedule, try number two on the Consumer Search list, Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone. It’s not just walking. You get to do side steps, knee lifts, and more to keep your one-, two- or three-mile walking workout interesting and effective. It’s one of the best workout videos out there for low-impact cardio.

5.

$30-$40

Meant for sculpting, toning and inch-loss, this pilates set is great for all levels of expertise, all ages and offers one short and one longer workout.

The Winsor Pilates 3-DVD Set is another winner, especially for those who want toning and flexibility. Mari Winsor is a fabulous teacher with a smooth voice who walks you through each of the moves designed to sculpt your whole body. For weight loss, you will probably want to do this in addition to a cardio program. It’s of low to medium intensity, and receives four out of five stars from users on Amazon.com.

6.

$30-$40

The program uses an exercise ball, hand weights (not included), and cardio equipment of your choice to get quick results in toning, strength, and weight loss.

The Core Secrets program promises quick results. If you buy the whole kit you’ll get two workouts—one for quick toning, and one for a more thorough workout. You can find individual DVDs on sites like eBay if you already have an exercise ball. The program is designed to be used in conjunction with a treadmill, bike, or other form of cardio you can easily do for five minutes and then return to your television screen. You’ll also need hand weights for this one.
