I think Howl's Moving castle should be added to here. It's one of the best animes I've seen. my favorite one is "spirited away". If you like drama then you must watch "grave of the fireflies". it's a really good one too :)

Thanks for the suggestion, chanchan. In the U.S., this movie has been released as 5 Centimeters Per Second. It may be difficult to find on DVD because its distributor had problems and it quickly went out of print. However, it has gotten good reviews from critics and viewers, so it looks like it's worth tracking down.

Thanks for the suggestion, igmo. I believe that The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was not released in the U.S. at the time this article was originally written. It's currently the 7th highest rated anime at Anime News Network, and the second-highest rated movie on the site's top ten list. So it's definitely a contender for any top anime movies list.

thePrincess Mononoke is extremely overated movie, simply the warrior is saved by goddess creature and deliberating helps the others to kill this goddess.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ash. As the original author of this piece, I wasn't sure if Cowboy Bebop: The Movie stood on its own well enough for people unfamiliar with the original, a problem with many anime movies based on series. Ah! My Goddess: The Movie just barely made the cut because it was so highly rated among reviewers. If it's any consolation, Cowboy Bebop made it on to our list of the Best Anime Series.

man you should have put cowboy bebop the movie on the list.how could you leave it out.it may not be as good as the tv series but should still be on the list.how could you not put it on the list.why you should be..........for this.
