i'm afraid i'm rather inclined to agree with peki. when i think true love, the first thing that pops into my mind is most certainly not the beach boys, U2, or whitney houston. :/ i personally would add "As," by Stevie Wonder (which encapsulates the eternity of real love through metaphor upon metaphor, as though-- lacking in words passionate enough to describe his feelings-- he tried to come as close as he could with what he knew), "La Vie En Rose," by Edith Piaf (the epitome of french romance and the simple joys of being in love expressed in one of the most beautiful languages on earth), and "I Saw the Light," by Todd Rundgren (the sudden, miraculous, breathtaking realization of being utterly in love with another human being. though, i must admit, i could be a little biased on this one, since it was the song playing during my first kiss with my husband). :)
