There are so many great players, it's always hard to narrow down a list of the best. Thanks for the suggestions, Adderson!

Jim Brown is the greatest player ever, and he doesn't crack your top top? And what's Julius Peppers doing here? He has no right to be ahead of Reggie White or Deacon Jones as a defensive end. Brady and Manning are great players but I'd have a hard time putting them on the top ten quarterbacks list. What about Sammy Baugh. He once led the league in passing touchdowns as a quarterback, interceptions as a safety and punting as, well, a punter; in one season. Other names you missed are: Dan Marino, Deion Sanders, Dick Lane, Dick Butkus, Lawerence Taylor, Mean Joe Greene, Merlin Olsen, Chris Carter, Don Hutson, Jim Taylor, Larry Csonka, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Jack Lambert and Roger Staulbach.

Thanks for suggesting Jim Brown. It's always difficult to pick just ten in a field with so many great options. Our lists consider other notable rankings, such as Sports Illustrated picks in the case of football, so perhaps Brown just didn't get many accolades from the sports media.

Are these supposed to be the best players of all time??? There's not anyone here who played before 1980. Are you kidding me? How could you leave Jim Brown off this list? He dominated the league for nine years in a way that no one has before or since, not even Montana.

Let me know if I'm missing something, but next time read your NFL history before making a list of this sort!

Reggie Bush seems to be a popular choice. Thanks for the feedback.

reggie bush is the best

We don't add to the lists after they're published, Ryan. But we love to hear from readers about their own picks. You've definitely made a convincing case for Reggie Bush, although perhaps he needs a few more years of play before he makes it on to more "best of" lists.

I personnaly think that Reggie bush belongs on that list to because ladanian tomlinson is getting older and slower and reggie bush is becoming one of the top runningbacks in todays erra. In usc he rushed for more than 2,000 yards and he is able to move quicker that ladanian Tomlinson has more elusiveness than him and is able to make those big jukes to the touchdown so please add reggie bush on that list and maybe champ baiely so basically the best corner in the nfl today so pleaase add those to the list

There have been so many great football players over the years, that it's nearly impossible to narrow it down to just ten without leaving out some impressive players. Thanks for adding your suggestions, Randy.

Umm...Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Johnny Unitas, Barry Sanders, Dan Marino? Cmon. Seriously how can you even leave any of those players let alone all of them out.

With so many great football players, it's difficult to narrow it down to just ten. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on our picks, Luke.

Wheres Walter Payton? Brett Favre? Julius Peppers doesn't belong here.
