When Trinity Mouzon Wofford and her partner Issey Kobori set out to launch Golde, an affordable beauty and wellness line, they had no idea what the future would bring. But just 5 years after they launched their first product out of their 1-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, they now have a full line of beautifully packaged and incredibly delicious superfood-based wellness products customers can't get enough of. Even more inspiring than their amazing success? The story of how it came to be.

A Lifestyle Change That Started It All

"I was raised by a single parent with a pretty severe autoimmune disease," Trinity tells LoveToKnow. "When I was a teenager, my mom switched over to seeing this more holistically-minded physician [and] saw an incredible improvement in her symptoms. That was my first real exposure to the power of 'wellness.'"

It was after that point that Trinity decided to pursue medicine and specialize in holistic treatment. She was pre-med at NYU when she discovered her mother had to stop seeing that doctor because she could no longer afford the visits. Trinity realized then and there that accessibility to wellness is limited and as she brought Golde to life a few years later, she knew she wanted to make her products not just effective, but affordable for those who need them.

Putting their heads together, Trinity and Issey noticed there was a gap in the consumer wellness space. On one end you had wellness products that felt stale, unoriginal, and generally not exciting to purchase. On the other end, you have expensive products that feel unattainable to the average consumer. Trinity and Issey knew they wanted to create a wellness brand that was the best of both worlds: delicious, luxe-feeling wellness products that are inclusive and accessible for all to enjoy.

Thus, Golde was born.

Trinity and Issey worked hand-in-hand on every aspect of the process from product ideation to design and customer feedback. They launched the company in 2017 and just a few years later in 2020, they made the Forbes 30 Under 30 Food & Drink List. They've since expanded their team and their line of products and remain dedicated to their original goal of providing flavorful, accessible wellness to all.

Other Than Price, What Makes Golde Different?

One of the things we love most about Golde is its simplicity and transparency. Their products are truly for everyone - whether you're a total newbie to the space or you could give Gwyneth a run for her money. All you have to do is know your needs and they'll take it from there. Their products (including latte blends, supplements, face masks, and kits) were created to fit seamlessly into your daily routine and designed to help you look (and feel) your best.

Each package not only looks beautiful but clearly lists the superfood ingredients used as well as their benefits. From the anti-inflammatory staple turmeric, which helps support the immune system, skin, and gut health, to matcha, which provides a natural boost of energy and focus without the caffeine crash.

It also doesn't hurt that Golde products actually taste good! It's important to the team that you're not only benefitting from the ingredients but that you're enjoying the experience as well. One particular standout is Golde's Coconut Collagen Boost (a bestseller), which helps to support your body's collagen production for hair, skin, and nail health. It has a creamy vanilla-coconut flavor that can be added to drinks like coffee, matcha, lattes, or smoothies.

Plus, everything is 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Golde gave their original supplements an upgrade with a boost in ingredients and brighter packaging. With three main flavors including blueberry, watermelon, and pineapple, each is packed with superfood ingredients with key benefits. Just add to water, mix, and enjoy.

Blueberry Calm is for stress support with antioxidants as well as magnesium and lemon balm for stress relief. Watermelon Glow helps support skin's health with hyaluronic acid that plumps and hydrates. Pineapple Debloat has probiotics and ginger to support gut health and digestive enzymes to help digestion and bloat.

Original Turmeric Latte Blend

The first product created by Trinity and Issey was the Original Turmeric Latte Blend. Containing six superfoods (coconut milk powder, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper), this blend is a powerful anti-inflammatory - and it's caffeine-free. Original Turmeric Latte Blend can be added to drinks or even baked goods!

Clean Greens Face Mask

Think green juice, but for your face. This is a purifying face mask with ingredients such as spirulina, chlorella, and mango juice. It also has marshmallow root to hydrate and calm inflammation. This face mask is unique in that it starts as a powder and when water is added, it turns to gel.

Papaya Bright Face Mask

This brightening, exfoliating mask is infused with superfoods including lucuma, papaya, and sea buckthorn berry. Vitamin C helps gently exfoliate to reveal your natural glow. Similar to the Clean Greens Face Mask, this face mask also starts as a powder and becomes a gel texture after adding water.
